What my Classmates Learned

Classmates were an essential part of this class and helped us get through it. We made presentations together, and ultimately helped us get the grades that we wanted in this class. This is what some of my classmates said about what they've learned in this class. Samuel Gutierrez said, "Another thing I learned this semester that taught me a lot was the importance of time management. I learned through reading assignments, blog post, comments, and projects." Molly Lauritsen said, " The most important thing that I learned was how to manage my time when working on big lengthy assignments when there aren’t a lot of strict guidelines." Heather Cook said, "So I think the most important thing I learned this semester is I GOT THIS!" So all in all, my classmates didn't learn much about literature, but about how to manage their time.

Most Important Thing That I've Learned

There are a lot of cool things that I have learned in this world literature class. While I haven't necessarily learned a lot about actual world literature works or authors, I have learned a lot about Google and how to work the different apps associated with it. Using Google Blogger and Google Docs will be very useful tools for if I need them in the future. I also learned a lot from the Wikipedia project, and how to make and operate a Wikipedia page. While there were a lot of cool things that I did learn, there are a lot of things that I would've liked to have to learned about world literature that I didn't. I feel like the lectures got super off topic and that we learned more about philosophy than we did about world literature and different works.

Classmates on Doc3 Struggles

I think that everyone has struggled a little bit on this essay, either from time constraints limiting them, or not really knowing the full extent of the project. Samuel Gutierrez says that he doesn't like to procrastinate on his projects and even used his brain as an example why, " I've learned through psychology about the sensor in your brain for checking off a check list, which is mainly why I do my homework way before the due date, because it releases tons of stress." Alan Molina said, "My two biggest problems with papers are usually how to start them and then how I want to structure the essay as a whole." I can relate to that as it is hard for me to get a good structure for my papers. Molly Lauritsen said that having the research already done really helped her. "I think that one of the things that really helped me to stay on task with document 3 was the fact that we had already done a large amount of the research with our Wikipedia projects."

Doc 3

At first I thought that writing 1500 words out of my Wikipedia article was going to be super hard because it is such a specific theme. As I was writing though, I figured out that it really wasn't that bad. Fortunately, I started on my paper super early as I waited to start my Wikipedia project until the last minute and it was super stressful. I got my paper completely finished in about 3 days. The only thing that really hindered me was probably my Xbox One because the temptation to play 2K was very strong. I'm very happy that I started early because it would suck to be one of the people in here that didn't do any of their work and now are gonna be super stressed out and probably hate their life for the next two days. I hope that my efforts are good enough that I will make at least an A.

Samuel Gutierrez learned through his peer review about epic hero's. "I learned about some of the traits and characteristics of being a epic hero. Through his paper he gives many citations and examples tying in with his information. I learned many epic heroes must be born through noble birth, which was something I did not already know (Samuel)." He also learned that one of the persons papers he was supposed to grade did not do their paper and will probably get a bad grade. Alan Molina said that regarding ethical standards in the presidential candidates that he believes that either Bernie Sanders or Ben Carson have the best and most strong standing ethics. "I believe when it comes to firm ethical standards I would have to choose between either Sanders or Carson (Alan)." He also says that he believes that ethical relativism can be applied to Donald Trump in the sense that Trump makes voters believe that he has strong ethics when he actually may just be putting up a front so to say. "I think ethical relativism can be applied to Trump in a more specific fashion than culture.  His mindset seems like he just thinks of  people that are in his level of income even if he seems like he helping everyone.  Machiavelli said that "'a leader doesn't have to possess all the virtuous qualities . . but it is absolute imperative that he seems to posses them"' which his probably why Trump is still currently leading and not out of the race like most people thought when announced he was running (Alan)."

I'm constantly surrounded by beauty in my life. Everything about my life is beautiful. I have an amazing family who is very supporting of anything that I do. I have a loving girlfriend who is beautiful on the outside but also on the inside. I'm able to go to college and have money to survive on. God's blessings are the beauty in my life. I'm constantly reminded of his beauty when I look around at trees or the rain.

My favorite song for a while now has been the song Always by Blink-182. The lyrics are:

The beauty in this song is overwhelming. It's basically a story of a guy who has lost his girlfriend and misses her both physically and mentally. He is willing to do anything and everything to get her back. This song is beautiful to me because it's basically saying that love never truly dies and that people are willing to go to great lengths to rekindle a lost love.
